Our Mission
Caring for Kids is a nonprofit organization that aims to help impoverished children in Westchester County. There are hundreds of kids in the community that struggle for basic necessities that we take for granted everyday.
We collect and distribute clothes, toys, and school supplies to underprivileged children across the county through various organizations. However, we lack the quantity to make a significant difference, but with your help, our vision can become a reality. We believe that if we want a change, we have to become the change.
Getting Involved
Even a small act of generosity can make a huge impact in these kids’ life. We want to make giving easy for you. We ask that you gather gently used clothes, toys, and school supplies, and leave them in bags outside your home. Then, contact us through the form below to schedule a pick-up time that works for you. We will collect your donations and drop them off at our various locations, along with notifying you when your donation has been received.

Founding Story
Nirvaan, Tanisee, and Brady are a group of community driven teenagers from Westchester, New York, who are committed to making a positive impact in the community. Through COVID-19, we have become more aware of the circumstances of other families and children. We are very grateful that our families have not been severely affected during these times, but we feel as if positive action on our end is the least we can do. Volunteering has been hard through these unprecedented times, but we want to make a change for the underprivileged. In many cases, we have found that others want to help and donate, but they don’t know how or where. We want everyone to come together and contribute to our community, which has led us to start Caring For Kids, where all donations come from the community for the community.

~~~ Frequently Asked Questions ~~~
Where do my donations go?
Every single donation you make will go to community centers, churches, and other distribution centers. From these places, we will give your donations to families.
How are you taking COVID-19 into account?
When we pick up, we will make sure to wear gloves and masks. We will also eliminate any way of spread through interaction by having you drop your clothes/toys/school supplies outside of your house for us to pick up, this way it will be safe on both ends. We ask that if you plan on donating clothes, you run them in the washing machine, even if they have not been used for a while.
Where in Westchester are you from?
Nirvaan, Tanisee, and Brady are from Edgemont and go to Edgemont High School.
Do you accept cash donations?
Although we understand that cash donations would be very helpful towards the people in need, as of right now, we are not accepting cash donations.
How do we know when our items have been donated?
As soon as your gifts have been donated, we will send a message to the phone number given when you filled out the form. On average, it takes two to three weeks for kids to receive your items.
Can I donate items that may not be on the “What Can I Donate” list?
Absolutely! The list that we give you servers as a guideline for what you can donate. If you know that there are certain items that kids may like, please donate them!
